Results This years event was an absolute success. Over 210 competitors entered and had 183 boulder problems to climb. Once again there were a few overseas entrants including Dave Birkett from the UK. The local de Doorns community worked together to host a very well organised event from registration, driving all the competitors up and down the now famous 4x4 track to a good prize giving and braai afterwards. Dave Birkett won the R2000 in Mens with Clinton Martinengo second,  Paul Brouard third and Evan Wiercx fourth. In Womens Robin Holwill took first place, Mary Jenner second and Lizanne Tucker in third. See the Complete Results.

History The Hex River Valley, until now known only for its export table grapes, is fast becoming known worldwide for its bouldering routes and the annual AGAMA ATRA OPEN AIR BOULDERING COMPETITION.

Agama Atra 2000 - Total competitors reached 128 and 118 bouldering problems were offered!  There were international competitors from Germany and Belgium. "...a truly aesome event! Absolutely brilliant!... a world class event." - Evan Wiercx, 2000 winner of Mens.

Competition Information

The event will be held at de Doorns in the Hex River Valley, this is jut off the N1 highway going north from Cape Town. It will be on the 28th of April 2001, this is over a long weekend. Big Prizes can be won, R2000 for  first prize, Mens & Womens! 150 problems await from grade V0/5 to V10/7c+. Accommodation and facilities are available, not to mention many excellent crags and bouldering close by. Braai & Prize Giving
No better way to celebrate an awesome day of climbing - meeting and socializing with climbers from all over - all that over a huge meal for only R20p/p and music (sponsored by High Life). The Braai & Prize Giving will be held in the Club 1000 community wall. First prizes this year will amount to R2000 for Mens & Womens.
